
From Vancouver
- Take the ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay
- Follow the MacDonald Park Road exit to the right (shoulder lane)
- Turn left and proceed over the highway overpass
- Turn right onto MacDonald Park Road
- Proceed 1.4 km, and turn left onto Resthaven Drive
- Continue on Resthaven Drive for 0.6 km
- Turn left onto Harbour Road
- Follow Harbour Road to its end (0.7 km) at Miraloma on the Cove
From Victoria
- Follow Highway #17 to the town of Sidney
- Exit to the right at Sidney onto Beacon Avenue
- Follow Beacon Avenue to the 2nd traffic light and turn left onto Resthaven Drive
- Continue on Resthaven Drive for approximately 2kms
- Turn right onto Harbour Road
- Follow Harbour Road to its end at Miraloma on the Cove
From Victoria International Airport
- Follow Willingdon Road exiting the Airport
- Continue to the intersection with McTavish Road
- Turn left at McTavish Road and follow to the lights at Highway #17
- Turn left at Highway #17 and follow to the Sidney exit.
- Exit to the right at Sidney onto Beacon Avenue
- Follow Beacon Avenue to the 2nd traffic light and turn left onto Resthaven Drive
- Continue on Resthaven Drive for approximately 2kms
- Turn right onto Harbour Road
- Follow Harbour Road to its end at Miraloma on the Cove

Marine Transportation
Marine transportation is very important to Vancouver Island for access to the mainland of British Columbia and Washington. There are no bridges connecting the island to the mainland, although the idea of building one has been brought up many times. The only vehicle access to Vancouver Island is via ferries operated by BC Ferries, Washington State Ferries and Black Ball Transport Inc. There are six vehicle ferry routes:

Crossing time: 1 hour 35 minutes; 8 sailings per day in the fall, winter, and spring with extra sailings during holidays and summer - Tsawwassen, BC - Duke Point, BC (13 km or 8 mi south of Nanaimo)
Crossing time: 2 hours; 8 round trips daily - Horseshoe Bay, BC (20 km or 12 mi northwest of Vancouver) - Departure Bay, BC (3 km or 2 mi north of Nanaimo)
Crossing time: 1 hour 35 minutes; Sailings every 2 hours with extra sailings during holidays and summer - Powell River, BC - Comox, BC
Crossing time: 1 hour 20 minutes; 4 round trips daily
